"Wedged in the behemoth urban landscape of Chongqing the photographer stumbles over traces of individuality in an environment of conformity."

Chongqing ranks among the largest cities in the world and serves as the economic powerhouse of southwestern China. The city is characterized by its shifting appearance and falters between awakening and decay. This provokes great contrasts between the built and the natural environment. Despite the relentless dynamic, the metropolis appears to be exhausted. On my forays through the urban undergrowth my goal was to record such worn-out places. There, between the overwhelming urban landscapes of conformity I discovered traces of individuality.
